I’ve been drawing a lot of kokeshis lately, especially because of a new side project of mine.
I had exams this month, my domain was offline last week. So much work, so little time.
The theme of Creative Everyday Challenge this month is school. One of the prompts was learn something. I used to paint a lot with colored pencils. I kinda stopped since I got more into digital art. But lately, I’m getting the feeling of this medium again, studying a bit more about coloring with pencils. So it kinda fits the theme.

Tenho desenhado um monte de kokeshis ultimamente, principalmente por causa de um novo projeto meu.

Eu tive provas esse mês, meu domínio ficou offline semana passada. Tanto trabalho, tão pouco tempo.

O tema desse mês do Creative Everyday Challenge é school (escola). Uma das sugestões era aprender alguma coisa. Eu costumava pintar bastante com lápis de cor. Eu meio que parei depois que comecei a aprender a colorir digitalmente. Mas ultimamente, eu estou trabalhando com esse material novamente, estudando um pouquinho mais sobre colorir com lápis de cor. Então serve um pouquinho no tema, né?

This year, I’m participating in Creative Every Day Challenge. Each month I’ll post an artwork to go with the theme. This September, the theme is School.

My entry for this month Creative Everyday Challenge. The theme is The Unknown.

It was suggested to work on a piece not knowing where it’s going to go. This was the route I went with.

Actually, I missed to draw by hand, traditionally, especially with ink pens, one of my absolutely favorite mediums to work with. So this happened.

It’s black and white… I would color it, but I was so short of time…. (my classes started again, it’s a speedy trimester…). When I scanned, I decided to play with colors on Photoshop, using gradients and a little bit of texture, to break the whiteness.

This piece was a little bit inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

Minha participação para o Creative Everyday Challenge desse mês. O tema é The  Unknown (O Desconhecido)

Uma das sugestões era trabalhar em um desenho sem saber como ele iria terminar. Decidi trabalhar nessa direção.

Na verdade, eu estava com saudades de desenhar à mão, tradicionalmente, especialmente usando as canetas de desenho, que é um dos meus materiais favoritos para trabalhar. E então, isso aconteceu.

É preto e branco… eu pintaria, mas estava com pouco tempo… (minhas aulas voltaram, um trimestre super corrido) Quando eu escaneei o desenho, decidi brincar um pouco com as cores no Photoshop, usando gradientes e um pouquinho de textura, para quebrar o branco.

Esse desenho foi um pouquinho inspirado em Alice in Wonderland.

My entry for this month Creative Everyday Challenge. The theme is Fireworks.

Sketched a bit, I recalled kimonos, summer and fireworks. The result was Yuuko, of course.  I love to draw Yuuko in kimono!

I ended up using that color palette meme thing from tumblr. I picked #15.

The fireworks were another problem. So I used a photoshop brush from here.

“Hanabi” is the japanese word for fireworks. I know, I’m very creative.

Minha participação do mês no Creative Everyday Challenge. O tema é Fireworks (Fogos de artifício).

Rabisquei um pouquinho, me lembrei de kimonos, verão e fogos. O resultado foi a Yuuko, claro. Adoro desenhar a Yuuko de kimono!

Acabei usando uma daquelas paletas daquele meme que circula pelo tumblr. Usei a paleta número 15.

Os fogos foram outro problema. Acabei usando dois brushes de photoshop daqui.

“Hanabi” é fogos de artifício em japonês. Eu sei, sou super criativa.
